This album is perfect in the morning. It's dark and intense, yet it doesn't try so hard to be. It invites introspection, a quality I'm drawn to here. The songwriting is open and patient, like swinging from one tree to the next in slow motion, fearfully wondering if you will make it or fall to the ground. Mr Conner
A glance at this record's familiar color scheme may end up tipping people away due to a perceived level of kitsch, but a listen through Neon Rain proves that it is well in place by its own right, presenting a combination of both longform ambient and chopped downtempo work.
Soft, drawling synths flow into sections that seem (albeit expertly) sampled, using percussion to drive into sections of sharper synthwork that feels positively electric. A masterpiece in variety and atmosphere, all in one. Cardian Matsu
