"Hailing from British Columbia Jules Chaz brings a new flavor of combined electronic, jazz and hip hop elements and so much more with Toppings. With 21 tracks to choose from you’ll be welcomed with sample heavy tracks in trip hop form with ‘Could Happen’. The ghetto styled rap lyrics summon a time of hardships while you slip in and out of the sliding hip hop groove. Turning to a more electronic style ‘Blak Lodge’ drives a droning arrangement of lo fi keys with a background of sporadic acid stabs and a haunting guitar slap similar to the Twin Peaks TV show. Rising in and out of the familiar styles of broken beat comes something different and catchy with a new twist. ‘Whipits’ stirs up the jah vibes with a reggae dub jam. The horns and rhythm guitar licks string along a cosmic and almost psychedelic tone leaving you in the mind frame that you don’t want to leave this island. What would seem like another sample heavy arrangement of ghoulish yelps ‘Liteball’ drums up an imaginative blend of scratchy record grooves and creepy sounds. With such a diverse collection of musical styles this album can be great for the loungers and also the folks that want something different or familiar like the groups like Portishead & Massive Attack that have created sounds like this from years past but now with a more diverse jazzy sound."

Any avid telepath fan knows he's made some pretty mind-altering post-contemporary, mall setting vaporwave in his discography, but I genuinely think of Antara Communications as a steep outlier to all of his albums. It doesn't even sound like it was created with any actual compound structure found on Earth, but more like was chemically concocted from light and pure ether. It might as well be some kind of strange transmission from another nebula because it's simply out of this world. (pun intended) Quota

Traditional in a "telepath" sense, but Beyond Reality is also one of a few records from his catalogue that sticks out to me a lot due to it's single "night-and-day" change. Softer, lusher, more warmth, and gentler to the touch than a lot of his early mall muzak material. All in all, it's a great album that was perfectly crafted to be played on nights that are meant to unwind to. Quota
